I want to thank you for taking the time to share more about AfricaRecruit's fascinating and impactful work concerning diaspora homeland investment. I have been in close contact with my research assistant, Alexis Gaul, as she gathered information from you via telephone and email conversations in December 2006-January 2007. You provided a detailed accounting of AfricaRecruit's relationship with various investment promotion agencies in Africa, including Ghana and Gambia. We also gained a clear understanding of how AfricaRecruit leverages its connections to various African Diasporas and its convocation powers to help bridge the chasm that often exists between potential diaspora investors and the investment-promotion agencies in their homelands. We are very grateful for your time and are extremely satisfied with the information you provided to us. My co-author, Tjai Nielsen, and I plan to further develop our ideas concerning Diaspora homeland investment. We hope that we can turn to you again in the future, so that we can continue to benefit from your keen insights and deep understanding- Dr. Liesl Riddle, Assistant Professor of International Business & International Affairs, The George Washington University- January 2007
Since 2005 Africa Recruit has supported the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) in strengthening our role as the UK’s umbrella organisation for institutional Health Links. Our collaboration has focused on increasing the involvement of African health professionals from the UK Diaspora in international health development through Health Links. Particularly, through Africa Recruit’s events such as the timely March 2006 Conference ‘Mobilising the African Diaspora Healthcare Professionals for Capacity Building’ and your readiness to marshal your network to involve them in THET’s events, sometimes at very short notice! We would like to thank you for all your support and we look forward to continue collaborating with you in the future.
