J. CLAIRE K. NIALA BSc (Hon) Psych BSc (Hon) Ost Med DO ND is a registered Osteopath and Naturopathic Physician who runs practices in Birmingham, UK and Nairobi, Kenya. She is dedicated to improving the health of people in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2004 she was the Project Officer responsible for setting up the Makini Schools/ Global Fund (II) HIV/AIDS Programme that specifically targeted behavioural change and established several VCT centres around Nairobi. She is also a volunteer with Care Highway a humanitarian aid organisation that provides medical services in areas affected by natural or man made disasters.

She is currently working on health partnerships between the NHS and providers of Complementary & Alternative Medicine in the West Midlands. An interest that was founded during her term as the African Representative for Young Business and Professional Women International (1998 - 2002).

Her other passion lies in the arts and her documentaries have been aired on BBC TV, radio as well as other international networks. She is currently the African Culture Editor for bellaonline.com
