DR. H NTABA, Minister of Health Malawi

Dr Ntaba has a vast experience coupled with his academic and professional proficiency, has been holding several ministerial and political positions in the Malawi government. He has worked as Chief of Health Services and currently as the Minister of Health. Over the past years he has held several positions and also been responsible for various leading roles in international organisations. He has been Executive Board Member of World Health Organisation from 1997 to 1989, has attended several World Health Organisation meetings as a chief delegation. He has also chaired a World Health Organisation Assembly Committee B in 1988.

Apart from WHO responsibilities, Dr Ntaba is currently an Executive Committee Member of Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunisation (GAVI). He was also a National Chairman of the Malawi Orthopaedics Project, a founding President of the Malawi Against Polio and a First Chairman of the National AIDS Committee in 1985 to 1986 apart from attending several international HIV/AIDs conferences and meetings. His contributions towards the health services in Malawi are of high value. Recently he is contributing greatly to the human resource of the College of Medicine, University of Malawi.   

Dr Ntaba has received several honours such as Honorary Member of Order of the British Empire Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Rotary International Life Membership.
